Introduction
Application of medicated paste made of appropriate herbs on the scalp for a specific period of time.
Materials Required
Preparation of medicine
Boil 192gms of Āmalaki cūrṇa in 720ml butter milk till the whole buttermilk is evaporated. Make a paste with this mixture before doing procedure.
Procedure
Anoint the patient well with suitable taila on head and body. Ask him/her to sit comfortable on a stool. Apply the mixture on vertex about 3-5cms thick in diameter. Massage the body gently while doing the process. After completion remove the paste from head and rub the vertex with dry cloth. If bath is contra indicated, Rāsnādi cūrṇa is rubbed on the head.

After massaging the base of the ears, pour eardrops and should be retained till the pain subsides or up to 1000 Mātrākāla in healthy person.
न कर्णरोगा वातोत्था न मन्याहनुसङ्ग्रहः।
नोच्चैः श्रुतिर्न बाधिर्यं स्यान्नित्यं कर्णतर्पणात्॥ (Ch.Su – 5/)84
By filling the ears daily with taila, there will be no ear disease of the vāta type, no stiffness of the neck or jaws, nor hardness of hearing nor deafness.
सुखस्वप्नावबोधत्वं वैशद्यं वर्णपाटवम् ।
निर्वृतिर्व्याधिविध्वंसः क्रियालाघवमेव च ॥ (Su.U – 18/13)
Induces good sleep, easy awakening at proper time, clarity of vision, ability to clearly appreciate the colours, subsides illness, no discomfort in performing movements of eyes.
